The United Kingdom is ready to advance with employing the full worth of seized Russian assets to aid Ukraine's war effort, PM Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the officials of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and Germany emphasized that this unified step would increase strain on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel the Russian Federation to come to the table.

They added that the decision would be implemented in close cooperation with the US.

British sanctions have frozen more than £25bn of Russian assets since Moscow initiated its comprehensive attack against Ukraine in 2022. However, up to this point, money allocated to Ukraine using Russian assets had solely been drawn from profits and interest generated on them.

Sir Keir told Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, the French Republic, and Germany were in agreement in their desire to advance efforts toward employing the complete amount of the immobilized Russia's state assets to end the war.

He added that more restrictions in the coming days and weeks would increase the strain on the Russian government.

This declaration comes after European Union officials met in Copenhagen recently to consider employing seized Russia's funds for a 140-billion-euro financial aid to the Ukrainian nation.

Last month, American leader Donald Trump urged G7 allies to confiscate or employ immobilized Russia's assets, based on media sources.

The worth of frozen Russian funds in the Europe is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Russia executed widespread bombardments all over the Ukrainian territory on Friday, causing power cuts in significant regions of Kyiv, Kyiv, and several other zones.

In a message on social media after the attack, Zelensky wrote that the premeditated assault targeted non-military and power facilities.

"Each restrictive measure diminishes Russia's war machine," Zelensky wrote, in a separate post.

Also on Friday, Zelensky stated to reporters he would urge Sir Keir to participate in the PURL program, under which Nato countries acquire weapons from the America to provide to Ukraine.

While applauding the United Kingdom's consistent assistance for Kyiv, he said it should demonstrate clearly that it would participate in the initiative, as well as enforce additional measures on Russia.
