A catastrophic detonation at a police station in the Kashmir region under Indian control has caused the deaths of nine people and harm to thirty-two additional people, according to police declarations.

The blast occurred on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam law enforcement facility, where detonation agents taken from Faridabad in the northern state of Haryana were being stored temporarily.
Regional police chief declared that the blast materials were scheduled for technical investigation when a "very unfortunate" incident during processing caused their detonation at approximately 11:20 PM local.

Police authorities verified that this was an "unintentional explosion" and rather than a terror incident. "Any other speculation regarding the reason of this incident is unnecessary," stressed the police chief during a press briefing.
The law enforcement facility suffered extensive destruction from the blast, with nearby constructions also being affected by the powerful blast.
Impact and Victims
Multiple vehicles were "consumed by fire and reduced to charred husks, with debris scattered across the site," according to official reports.
"The force of the explosion was so extreme that some body parts were retrieved from nearby houses, approximately 100-200 metres away the police station," reported an police contact.
Most of the fatalities were police officers, along with technical investigation team, two evidence documentation specialists, and a clothing professional who was with the team.

The region's Lieutenant Governor conveyed commiserations and declared that an probe had been commissioned into the devastating event.
