A charity drive is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The effort aims to send support to people in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.
A Chance for Unity and an "Chart Upset"
Composer and producer Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.
“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn’t, holiday tracks are a unique phenomenon.”
Defiant Message of Self-Determination
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.
“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we want to live a respectful existence that we merit as a people.”

The track was produced following a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the performance was cut from the show due to the event running long.
The impressive roster of performers featured on Lullaby encompasses a selection of well-known figures from the scene. All were part of the September show, which successfully generated a significant sum for charitable causes.

Lullaby was brought to life by a trio of music creators. The single features a combination of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.
The group managing the campaign have stated that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These proceeds will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an partnering humanitarian organization.
“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a spokesperson explained. “We’ll go for the maximum achievable. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”
The reality in the area was described as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of buildings described as levelled or seriously harmed.
“Given that reality, a couple of million won't make that much difference. But I think what truly matters is above all raising awareness for this issue and proving the human dimension of the story.”
