Intensive Russian Strikes Eliminate Electricity Across Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water supplies, according to city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased strikes on power infrastructure over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not window dressing but decisive action - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and applying penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen missiles attacked energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles hit energy infrastructure and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the strikes on the capital have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The strikes come after evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to detect.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with strikes already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
