Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the global break, but will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, against AI, readers and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

The singer's latest album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's sole away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have got lots of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to back the visitors here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
