A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault resulted in the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later released.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
